Considered by some historic preservationists as one of the rare architectural gems on the city’s West Side, St. Michael School is in the hands of local interests seeking to restore the luster to this weathered jewel. The five-story school building with its statues of saints and other ornaments was threatened with demolition when the property fell into foreclosure nearly three years ago.

Permit confirms new West Side warehouse to be for Amazon

A permit was filed June 10 with the City of Cleveland’s Building and Housing Department for the retrofit of an existing warehouse, to be used as an Amazon distribution and delivery station at Madison Industrial Park on Cleveland’s West Side. And based on additional information posted with the permit today, the facility will accommodate hundreds of new jobs.

Lakewood weighs Plan B for hospital redevelopment

Starting today, the City of Lakewood will begin the process of salvaging the redevelopment of the city-owned Lakewood Hospital site.

That redevelopment was left in limbo when Mayor Meghan George last week announced that the city and its first-choice developer had reached an irreconcilable impasse over the site clean-up costs. Carnegie Management and Development Corp. had terminated its agreement with the city.

Ohio City Transit Oriented Development arrives the next station

A significant real estate development next to and possibly above the rail rapid transit line in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood moved a step closer to reality today. That occurred when the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s (GCRTA) Board of Trustees authorized staff to execute a development and use agreement with Carnegie Management and Development Corp. of Westlake.
