Mayor Justin Bibb’s administration is requesting an important amendment to the city’s riverfront tax increment financing (TIF) district that would do three things. One spells out exactly what infrastructure work would be done. A second would extend the 30-year TIF to 42 years. And the third and perhaps most controversial is that it would pledge undefined future TIF revenues to start infrastructure work now.

Downtown Riverfront entertainment complex, Browns Berea site, others seek TMUDs

The next phase of Bedrock’s Downtown Cleveland Riverfront development is proposed to feature a large, 17-story entertainment complex topped by a hotel. Dubbed Rock and Roll Land, it is the largest of seven Northeast Ohio projects and is seeking the largest award possible in the fourth and final authorized round of the Ohio Department of Development’s Transformation Mixed Use Development (TMUD) tax credits.

Sherwin-Williams outlines new HQ parking plan

This week, Sherwin-Williams released a parking plan for workers at its new Downtown Cleveland headquarters that is due to open sometime in mid-2025. The parking plan was provided to the nearly 3,500 headquarters employees to answer their commuting questions, although the impacts of the plan will effect other workers, residents and visitors in the western part of downtown.

Park Place Tech seals HQ deal

After a year-long search for a new headquarters, Park Place Technologies has closed on its deal to acquire Progressive Direct Insurance’s Alpha Campus in Highland Heights. Consummation of the purchase agreement sets the stage for renovating the multi-building campus and ultimately relocating to it 500 headquarters employees from neighboring Mayfield Heights. Warehouse operations in Solon will also be consolidated on the new site.
