One of the most anticipated games in my early Cleveland Browns fandom came three days after Thanksgiving in 1979. The 8-4 Browns faced the hated Steelers at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh where the Browns had yet to win. The Steelers were going for their fourth Super Bowl in the 1970s and the Browns were trying to get back to their glories of the prior two decades.

Ohio Capital Budget’s Cuyahoga County projects

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said he is eager to sign the largest capital budget in the state’s history. This $4.2 billion goody bag of Senators’ and Representatives’ gifts to their constituents was passed yesterday, resulting from a strong economy and robust tax revenues that fed a record budget surplus. In that goody bag are things ranging in size from $2,250 for the Solon Innovation Center to $20 million for Downtown Cleveland’s North Coast Connector land bridge.

Browns stadium likely going to Brook Park, if…

NEOtrans has learned that the Cleveland Browns and their owners, the Haslam Sports Group, want several things from their stadium over the next 30 years that the City of Cleveland appears unwilling to give them. That includes a dome that adds another $1 billion-plus to the stadium’s cost and control over revenues from parking and a ballpark village development.
