Three large redevelopment sites totaling nearly 20 acres in Cleveland’s Lee-Harvard neighborhood are the subject of city efforts to focus investment on them. The effort is intended to reverse decades of disinvestment that has occurred on Cleveland’s southeast side by producing jobs, new housing and catalyzing more investment. Cleveland seeks developers for Slavic Village school site

A site in Cleveland’s Slavic Village that has hosted school facilities for the last 127 years could host a new use in the coming years depending on the response to a request for qualifications (RFQ) from prospective developers. That RFQ was issued this week by the city of Cleveland’s Department of Community Development, in partnership with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD).

New CSU arena in play by year’s end

By the end of this year, Cleveland State University (CSU) officials and their project consultants said they hope to select a development team, financing plan and a proposal for a new multi-purpose, indoor arena on Payne Avenue just east of downtown Cleveland. The arena would serve the athletic and academic needs of CSU as well as the entertainment needs of Greater Cleveland. And depending on the responses from prospective teams, the winning proposal could also include details about developing a neighboring mixed-use district.
