An obviously exasperated Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb today claimed the owners of the Cleveland Browns football “abandoned” downtown for suburban Brook Park, in a move due to be announced by the team as early as tomorrow. But Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne said he wasn’t ready to concede defeat yet.

Construction permit applications were filed this week with the city of Cleveland’s Building Department so contractors can start digging and installing foundations for the first phase of Bedrock’s Downtown Riverfront development. That first phase is the Cleveland Clinic/Cleveland Cavaliers Global Peak Performance Center, touted as one of the world’s largest training facilities.

Today, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Clinic and Bedrock Real Estate revealed the first official renderings of the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center. Pending city approvals, groundbreaking on the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center is anticipated before the end of 2024.
