Two cranes, coming right up

While work has started on installing the tower crane at Sherwin-Williams’ (SHW) headquarters construction site, the timetable has been set for the next one to rise in downtown Cleveland. That second crane will appear at the work site for the City Club Apartments near the end of August, according a spokesman for Cleveland Construction Inc. Tower cranes are considered by some to be a visual indicator of a city’s economic growth.

Sherwin-Williams HQ to rise in August

Although the new Sherwin-Williams (SHW) headquarters has been under construction since Nov. 29, 2021, the only evidence of it that passersby could see are several mobile cranes making their way around the site. That’s going to continue to be the case for another two months, according to SHW officials.

At the end of last week’s Cleveland Landmarks Commission meeting, the commission’s Secretary Donald Petit advised members to keep their schedules clear on June 3 for a special meeting with Sherwin-Williams (SHW) regarding its 616-foot-tall headquarters project in downtown Cleveland. Sokolowski’s to be razed for apartments over retail

Two local businessmen are seeking to redevelop the former Sokolowski’s University Inn restaurant property, 1201 University Rd., into a six-story luxury apartment building, if the project is approved by the city of Cleveland as designed.
