Relocation downtown follows leadership change
ReadySet Surgical Inc., a young, fast-growing company that provides supply chain management software and cloud-based platforms to hospital systems has relocated its headquarters to Cleveland from Cincinnati, according to two different sources.
Although the information technology company already lists on its Web Site the Lakeside Place office building, 323 W. Lakeside Ave., Suite 201 in downtown Cleveland, as its new location, a building permit application for the $662,150 build-out of a 8,010-square-foot office space at that location is still pending with the city. The permit was filed with the Cleveland Building Department in August and remaining application fees were paid Aug. 29, public records show.
The privately held company, founded in 2015 by medical device sales rep Keerthi Kanubaddi, has grown to 41 employees and saw its number of hospital system clients double from 50 to 100 in just the past three years. But the headquarters move to Cleveland has been in the works for more than a year, one of the sources said. The move follows two major developments — one was a leadership change and the other was a boost in venture capital funding.
After CEO Kanubaddi departed in late-2021 to lead Silicon Valley-based Bedrock Surgical, ReadySet Surgical named Kevin von Keyserling to succeed him. Previously, Von Keyserling was CEO and founder of Keyfactor Inc, a Cleveland-based IoT cybersecurity firm. A year earlier, ReadySet Surgical received $5.5 Million Series A financing led by Cleveland-based JumpStart Inc.’s NEXT Fund. Also participating in the funding round are all of ReadySet’s Seed-round investors and a new investor, North Coast Ventures.

Previously, much of ReadySet Surgical’s venture capital came from Cincinnati-based firms and health care partners. They included CincyTech, Queen City Angels and Connetic Ventures. Plus, Cincinnati-based Mercy Health, one of the largest health care systems in the country, also invested in ReadySet Surgical since 2017. The firm is pursuing additional major clients and may be near to announcing one of them, a source said. A ReadySet spokesperson did not respond to an e-mail from NEOtrans seeking more information prior to publication of this article.
“We have an amazing and talented group of individuals who spend every hour of the day thinking about how we can create more value for our health care customers,” von Keyserling said in a recent written statement. “It is that kind of passion and customer-first thinking that drew me to the company. I am ready to begin developing our plans for the next phase of growth and look forward to working closely with our board of directors to ensure we achieve it.”
ReadySet Surgical provides a cloud-based supply chain platform to support surgical procedures, virtually eliminating the need for costly last-minute supplies of instruments or implants. In a statement shared by JumpStart, ReadySet says that “Patients stand to benefit clinically and financially when surgeons have a repeatable surgical ‘tool-kit’ of approved implants and instruments. ReadySet ensures that the required implants and instruments are available for the surgeon and patient at the right time and contracted price.”
The company’s new downtown office is located on the southwest corner of Lakeside and West 3rd Street in the Warehouse District. Now an office building called Lakeside Place, the 98,000-square-foot building was originally built in 1918 by the L.N. Gross Company for the manufacturing of women’s clothing. The building was remodeled in 1990 during a wave of conversions and renovations in the district, capitalizing on the building’s industrial feel and combining it with modern work design was part of new trend more than 30 years ago.
