Fulton House development plan in Ohio City getting mixed reviews

A small mixed-use development proposed on the site of Ohio City Brews on Fulton Road is getting some mixed reviews from the community. But the developers are confident that they can address many of the concerns.

If so, they hope to start construction this summer on a 20-unit apartment building atop an existing, 96-year-old building to be converted into two storefronts and parking. The project would freshen up and activate an underutilized, high-profile street corner in a densifying, vibrant urban neighborhood.

Lakewood reaches settlement with hospital site developer

According to a statement released today by the City of Lakewood, the city has reached a settlement agreement with Carnegie Management and Development Corp. of Westlake regarding the redevelopment of the former Lakewood Hospital site. The settlement resulted from the early termination of an agreement between the two parties before construction began.

West Side gem may sparkle again as Arch at St. Michaels

Considered by some historic preservationists as one of the rare architectural gems on the city’s West Side, St. Michael School is in the hands of local interests seeking to restore the luster to this weathered jewel. The five-story school building with its statues of saints and other ornaments was threatened with demolition when the property fell into foreclosure nearly three years ago.

Permit confirms new West Side warehouse to be for Amazon

A permit was filed June 10 with the City of Cleveland’s Building and Housing Department for the retrofit of an existing warehouse, to be used as an Amazon distribution and delivery station at Madison Industrial Park on Cleveland’s West Side. And based on additional information posted with the permit today, the facility will accommodate hundreds of new jobs.
