A proposed boutique hotel for Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood was significantly redesigned after conceptual plans were first presented to the city’s Landmarks Commission six months ago. A plan to renovate an historic car dealership with retail uses, including a new Starbucks in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood, was approved today by the city’s Landmarks Commission. A shift to more chain businesses is under way in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood. In February, NEOtrans was first to report that Chipotle is opening a store on West 25th Street in the neighborhood’s Market District. Just after 3 a.m. on Halloween 2024, an Audi crashed at high speed into a section of the INTRO complex, at 2050 Gehring Ave. in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood. While the driver wasn’t seriously hurt, the damage to the structure was so severe that two restaurants, Pioneer and Jaja, affected by the crash are still closed and repairs won’t be completed until 10 months after the initial impact.
