Downtown retail revival plan announced

Downtown Cleveland, Inc. today shared its Downtown Retail Strategy, designed as a roadmap to create a thriving retail environment in the urban core. Unveiled by Downtown Cleveland, Inc. President & CEO Michael Deemer during the 2023 State of Downtown at The City Club of Cleveland, the plan is one of Reimagining Downtown Cleveland’s near-term economic priorities. It aims to fill gaps in the city center’s marketplace and serve existing residents and businesses.

Bedrock: downtown streetscapes coming

Cleveland was once called the “Forest City” because of its many large, healthy trees along its major thoroughfares. One would never know that today after 150 years of industrialization and then neglect in the city’s post-industrial era. Now, there are many parts of the city that are devoid of mature trees, notably downtown where the lack of vegetation makes the central business feel hotter in summer and more windy in winter. But Bedrock Real Estate of Detroit has released plans to make downtown sidewalks more hospitable, or at least those fronting its own properties in the city’s urban core.

Large office building in the works for Cleveland’s Midtown

What may prove to be the largest office building ever built in Cleveland’s MidTown corridor is advancing toward a potential construction date early next year.
Wexford Science & Technology, LLC of Baltimore is moving forward in developing a 150,000-square-foot office building and multilevel parking deck at the northwest corner of Euclid Avenue and East 66th Street.
