Yesterday morning, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne, Cuyahoga County Council President Pernel Jones Jr., Cleveland City Council President Blaine Griffin arrived at the monthly board meeting of the Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP). There, they asked the 70-member board of the region’s corporate CEOs and presidents to side with them on where the Cleveland Browns should play their home games after 2028.

Cleveland Kitchen wins $10M in tax credits

Cleveland Development Advisors (CDA) has allocated $10 million in federal New Markets Tax Credits to Cleveland Kitchen, originally Cleveland Kraut, to consolidate and expand its production facility in the Central Kitchen Food Hub. The hub is a food incubator and accelerator on Carnegie Avenue in Cleveland’s Midtown neighborhood.

Lowest unemployment rate in 23 years

For many Greater Clevelanders, they had a merry Christmas thanks to one of the tightest job markets locally in more than two decades. According to preliminary data released late last week by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the unemployment rate for the Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor metropolitan area was the lowest it has been since December 2000.

$80 million OK’d for Greater Cleveland development

Yesterday in Baltimore, Treasurer of the United States Chief Lynn Malerba awarded $5 billion worth of New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) nationwide, with $80 million of that to support real estate development projects Greater Cleveland. The projects are intended to be transformative by attracting private investment to create jobs in underserved communities.

GCP’s new web tool gives development insights

A new Web-based development tool went live today to give prospective real estate investors more information on where and what is going on around sites in which they may be interested. The tool, developed by the Greater Cleveland Partnership and City Architecture of Cleveland, is available to the public free of charge and without any registration required.
