Treo opening doors on West 25th

Treo, named for where Tremont meets Ohio City, is the first of the big, market-rate apartment buildings to come to this no-man’s land part of town. Built on the site of a former auto repair and scrap yard business along a lesser-traveled section of West 25th Street, Treo’s first resident moved into the 171-unit property last week as construction work is substantially completed.

MetroHealth starts West 25th development work

MetroHealth System, developer NRP Group and RDL Architects Inc. have begun conversations with the City Planning Commission on the early stages of advancing the development of two large buildings on the west side of West 25th Street, across from the hospital’s main campus. The two buildings, to be located in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood, would provide market-rate apartments and affordable units for seniors, plus a new police station and ground-floor commercial uses along West 25th’s sidewalk.

CentroVilla25 may start construction this fall

It has been years in the making, but things are finally starting to come together with CentroVilla25. Building permits were filed with the city last week for the start of construction that will turn a vacant warehouse at 3140 W. 25th St. into a center of Hispanic culture, shopping and entrepreneurship for Cleveland’s La Villa Hispana (Clark-Fulton) neighborhood. That follows City Planning Commission’s Design Review Committee giving the project schematic approval earlier this month — with conditions.

New Bridgeworks design wins support

Plans for building an apartment-hotel tower called Bridgeworks at the west end of the Detroit-Superior Bridge appear to be back on track after the development team made some design changes. Those changes allowed the project to win unanimous support yesterday from the Ohio City Design-Review Committee. The same committee last month sent the project back to the drawing board.
